(Español) Los gigantes mineros cupríferos apostaron por la innovación. Fundición Ferrosa, con la aplicación del software Rocky, programa que permite diseñar cualquier pieza en 3D y simular la condición de operación que necesite el cliente, adecuó el diseño de los liners en los chutes de Las Bambas y Toromocho.
Con ello, se alargará la vida útil del producto en las operaciones mineras y se obtendrá mayor duración y eficiencia, y menos horas de paradas por mantenimiento del equipo.

INNOVATION PROJECT FOR THE PRODUCTION OF IMPROVED GETS

Designing and casting improved GETS (steel tips of excavators) continues to be a challenge. Based on its 50 years experience, Fundición Ferrosa, in a joined effort with Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and with governmental financing, launched and produced a new GET prototype which reduced up to 70% the wear through abrasion, compared with other similar pieces in the market.

VACATION WORKSHOPS

At Ferrosa we believe that extra-curricular activities for kids are of great importance for their future. In the past we used to organize courses in math and English language, this time however, we decided to focus on activities related to sensibility and artistic expresion. We believe that a proper, confident, prepared and generous personality is inevitabily related to art. Emotional intelligence is as important as its Logical and Cognitive counterparts. The courses took place during January and February in spaces of Mali and Senati.

PRESENTING FERROSA’S RESEARCH PROJECT IN THE PUCP

At the Dammert lecture hall in PUCP, Naima Montiel, CEO of Fundición Ferrosa, presented an innovation project centered on a new design for GETS. This was a joint effort between PUCP, Ferrosa and Innóvate Perú, a governmental agency which funds innovation projects. Among the attendees were Francisco Rumiche and Rolando Núñez, chief engineers at the PUCP research labs. They confirmed that the new design reduced up to 70% the wear due to abrasion in the newly designed GET part.

My father returned from Brasil with the idea of starting an assembly factory. He ended up with a foundry, first providing parts for the automotive industry and from 1991 on, for the mining and construction industries.

Ferrosa is a middle-sized foundry, with great presence in the market due to its constant presence in mining events and its projects of social responsibility.
